“Radical Islamist terrorist groups” are the pre-eminent transnational terrorist threat to the US and to its interests abroad.

National Security Adviser John Bolton stated about the aforementioned, as he presented the new US counterterrorism strategy, Reuters reported.

“In addition, the United States faces terrorist threats from Iran, which remains the most prominent state sponsor of terrorism, really the world’s central banker of international terrorism since 1979,” Bolton also told reporters.
