Spokesperson for Russian President Dmitry Peskov has confirmed that Russian President had sent a letter of congratulations to Armenian ex-President Robert Kocharyan, RIA Novosti reported.

According to Peskov, Putin congratulates him and wishes all the best.

Earlier, Peskov said that Putin and Kocharyan have good relations, “which are not influenced by any events that take place in Armenia”

Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan is in custody since December 7.

Robert Kocharyan—along with several other former officials—has been charged within the framework of the criminal case into the tragic events that transpired in capital city Yerevan on March 1 and 2, 2008.
