YEREVAN. – The attorneys for the second Armenian president, Robert Kocharyan, will insist on a separate consideration of the bail application and the extension of the term of the arrest.

Lawyers would ask the court to consider a petition for the use of bail, and only then to consider the petitions to extend the term of the arrest, lawyer Aram Orbelyan told reporters.

Asked to comment whether there are other grounds for recusal, the lawyer noted that he knew nothing about it yet.

Speaking about the media publications alleging that the judge in the case of Arthur Mkrtchyan was the prosecutor in Nikol Pashinyan's case when he was the editor of the Oragir newspaper, Orbelyan noted that this is not a reason for recusal, if it does not turn out that the prime minister has something to do with the tapping.

“If prosecutor is aware of such circumstances, it would be right to report about it,” the lawyer noted.
