The preliminary investigation of the case separated from the criminal case being examined by the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia over the events that took place in Yerevan on 1-2 March 2008 is over.

The Special Investigation Service told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the criminal case of ex-president of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan, former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Yuri Khachaturov and former Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Gevorgyan has been forwarded to the supervising prosecutor along with an accusatory conclusion, with a motion to forward it to court.

Robert Kocharyan is charged with part 1 of Article 300.1 and point 2 of part 4 of Article 311 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (overthrow of the constitutional order of the Republic of Armenia and receiving a bribe in particularly large amounts), Seyran Ohanyan and Yuri Khachaturov are charged with part 1 of Article 300.1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (overthrow of the constitutional order of the Republic of Armenia), while Armen Gevorgyan is charged with part 1 of Articles 38-300.1, point 2 of part 4 of Article 311 and point 1 of part 3 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (assisting in overthrowing the constitutional order of the Republic of Armenia, receiving a bribe in particularly large amounts and legitimizing criminally received property).
