The current head of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Giorgi Gakharia, will head the government. Gakharia was represented today by the leader of the ruling Georgian Dream party Bidzina Ivanishvili, Georgian News reported.

Mamuka Bakhtadze, who served as prime minister of Georgia for a little over a year, announced his resignation on Monday

According to him, he was nominated as Georgia’s Prime Minister in 2018 to create and implement a framework for the country’s strategic development that would ensure the achievement of the state goals in the coming years and would become the country’s development guide.

He added that he has decided to resign as the strategic framework has been created.
