Turkish threats are quite palpable in Armenia’s foreign policy, said Armenian FM Zohrab Mnatsakanyan Wednesday at the parliament.

Asked to comment on the Armenian right to have access to the sea as Turkey opposes it, putting the republic in actual isolation, the FM noted that within the UN there is a special group of countries that are landlocked. There are slightly more than 30 of them.

According to him, the question raised should be considered in a broader context.

“It concerns Armenian-Turkish relations,” and the absence of these relations is a challenge to Armenia and its security, he said.

He noted this is one of the most painful challenges for the national security of Armenia.

The Turkish threats are known to all, and quite palpable in the Armenian foreign policy, he said adding that the Armenian side should conduct a deeper analysis to clearly determine how this process will be carried out within the legal framework.
