The members of the Culture Committee of the Yerevan Council of the Elders have approved to the installation—at Komaygi Children's Park—of a monument to the victims of the March 1, 2008 tragedy in the city. Grigor Yeritsyan, a member of the majority My Step faction of the Council, informed about this on Facebook.

“The bronze and stone monument that won the open competition is called ‘Reaction and Counteraction.’ The creator of the statue is sculptor Albert Vardanyan, a participant in the 2008 post-election protests.

"The sculpture is about the contrast between a powerful, voluminous and bright force on the one hand, a dark, more brutal force on the other hand," Yeritsyan added.
