Member of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Armenian National Congress political party Armen Khachatryan today took to his Facebook page to report that an appeal has been filed to the Court of Cassation with the demand to acknowledge the violation of the fundamental right of Vardan Ghavalbabunts (political prisoner under the case of the events of March 1, 2008), overturn the rendered verdict and send the case for further investigation.

Ghavalbabunts was sentenced to four years of imprisonment under Article 225 (Mass Disturbances) of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
