YEREVAN. – The holding of snap parliamentary elections is not an end in itself for Armenia’s authorities. Suren Grigoryan, an MP of the ruling My Step bloc, said this during Thursday’s traditional briefings in the National Assembly.

According to him, the signing of a memorandum on conducting such an election should be a proof of that, and he called for understanding toward the current situation and this proposal.

"I do not understand the comments of our fellow parliamentarians [from the opposition] because during these entire two years, they have been complaining that their opinion is not taken into account and that the parliamentary majority makes those decisions on its own. Now we [the parliamentary majority faction] say that we do not want to make those decisions on our own, we want to make them together so that we can figure out together how to solve the problem that arose in the given specific situation," Grigoryan added.
