YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: "You have worked at the Open Society Foundations. Qualifications have been voiced many times that the Soros Foundation has acted against RA. I would like you to say clearly: will you work for the RA or against [it]?” At the NA [National] special sitting, NA independent MP Taguhi Tovmasyan asked a question to the candidate for the SJC [Supreme Judicial Council] member, Davit Khachaturyan.

"Of course, I will work exclusively for Armenia. But what I said does not mean that I accept as a reality that the foundation has carried out other activities. You also said that these are rumors. Naturally, their intensity does not constrain me; the conversations do not affect my devotion. As long as the rumors are not facts, I would not like to respond," answered Davit Khachaturyan, and then made an interesting statement.

"If this is considered a negative thing, for example, let me say [that] my colleague Hrayr Ghukasyan, who was a member of the foundation's board of directors for four years and also the chairman, had been appointed [ex-President] Serzh Sargsyan's legal assistant, and no one had a question [in this regard]," he said.

And who is Hrayr Ghukasyan? Apart from being Serzh Sargsyan's assistant, he was his adviser.

It turns out that Serzh Sargsyan's chief adviser was the "chief Soros member" of the country. And now, it is at least bizarre that members of his political team are criticizing the current government for giving positions to the Soros members.
