The Union of Armenians of Ukraine calls on the political forces in Armenia to reach a consensus for the sake of the people. This is what representative of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine in Donestk, head of the Union’s headquarters in Yerevan Ruben Makaryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The Union of Armenians of Ukraine is concerned about the current political situation in Armenia. Everyone is waiting for the complicated domestic political situation to be solved soon and to see the political forces and the people achieve mutual understanding. The people of Armenia face serious issues that need to be solved,” Makaryan mentioned.

The domestic political situation in Armenia became tense after the end of the war in Nagorno-Karabakh and the signing of the trilateral agreement on November 9, 2020, as a result of which nine regions that had been under the Armenian side’s control since 1994 (nearly 7 regions of Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as Hadrut and Shushi) were transferred to Azerbaijan.

The prevailing majority of political parties and non-governmental organizations, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, as well as the Church and educational and cultural institutions demand the resignation of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet.
