Armen Hovhannisyan, the 32-year-old man arrested in a criminal case opened in connection with the shooting that took place two days ago in the Aparan community, according to information of Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Hovhannisyan is a resident of Dzoraglukh community of Aragatsotn province of Armenia.

According to media reports, on 19 June in Nigavan village of Aragatsotn, relatives of the members of the ruling "Civil Contract" party shot young people because they were scolding Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The relatives of Matevos Asatryan, an MP from the ruling party, and Edgar Parvanyan, a cousin of the deputy governor of the region from the "Civil Contract", quarreled with a group of young people, after which the relatives and friends of Asatryan and Parvanyan shot them dead with a Kalashnikov. Doctors said one of the wounded died and the rest were hospitalized at Medical Centers "Armenia" and "Astghik."

According to law enforcers, the incident had no political subtext, but was purely domestic. A criminal case was instigated.
