Iran announced the elimination of a group of terrorists with weapons and ammunition on the border with Azerbaijan in Khoda Afarin, Mehr reports. 

According to General Mohammad Ahmadi, commander of the border service, a group of terrorists intending to commit acts of sabotage inside the country were detained last night and a significant amount of weapons and ammunition were confiscated from them.

Gen. Ahmadi said two of the terrorists were arrested and police confiscated two vehicles from them. An inspection of the confiscated vehicles revealed a significant amount of weapons and ammunition, including four grenades and three remote-controlled explosive devices. Several cameras, tablets and cell phones were also found and confiscated from them.

He added that the terrorists were handed over to the judicial authorities because a criminal case was opened against them.

Khoda Afarin district in the northwestern Iranian province of eastern Azerbaijan, bordering with Azerbaijan.
