The Swedish parliament will meet on November 16 to vote for amendments to the Swedish constitution that would strengthen anti-terrorism laws, which is a key requirement for Turkey to approve Stockholm's bid for NATO membership. European Pravda writes this, citing a statement from the Swedish parliament's constitutional committee.

According to the statement, the constitutional committee has worked through a proposal for a constitutional amendment that allows restrictions on freedom of assembly for groups engaged in terrorism. The committee invites the Riksdag (parliament in Sweden) to agree to the proposal.

The day before, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, after talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said that Sweden will fully comply with the agreement with Turkey on the issue of joining the North Atlantic Alliance. He also promised that the country would fulfill its obligations as an ally in the alliance in the future.
