The President of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) Siofra O'Leary issued a report on the Court's activity in 2022, also presenting statistics on Armenia for the past year. 

Thus, according to the report, in 2022, the European Court of Human Rights issued 21 judgments on 31 applications against Armenia, in all of which at least one violation was found.

The most violated right is the right to liberty and security of person (7 decisions) and the right to protection against inhuman and degrading treatment (6 decisions).

According to the report, Armenia is also one of the countries with the highest number of pending applications among the Council of Europe countries (1250 applications or 1, 7% of the total number of applications).

In 2022, 12 applications for interim measures against Armenia were filed with the ECtHR. However, none of the applications were satisfied.

The report also notes that from 1959 to 2022, the ECtHR issued 174 rulings on the applications against Armenia. In 163 of them at least one violation was found. The right to liberty and security was the most violated (60 judgments), followed by the right to a fair trial (52 judgments) and the right to protection of property (37 judgments).
