Zhoghovurd daily of Armenia writes: At yesterday's session of the government, it was finally confirmed that the next election of the Yerevan Council of Elders will take place on September 17. Thus, the next election campaign will start from August 23.
It is known that the entire makeup of [the ruling] CC [(Civil Contract) Party] will be engaged in this campaign, and the MPs of the [CC] faction [in parliament] will also be "detained" to participate in it and campaign for their candidate [i.e. deputy mayor Tigran Avinyan].
Thus, as of now, the parliamentary opposition forces have not yet announced their decision to run in the elections. (...).
