The UN Security Council demonstrated its solidarity in unequivocal condemnation of the blatant use of force by Azerbaijan targeting the peaceful population and civil infrastructures in Artsahk. President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan wrote this on his X (former Twitter) account.
He also mentioned that there were clear and targeted messages by many of our partners genuinely interested in peace and stability of the South Caucasus at the UN Security Council emergency meeting on aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against people of Nagorno-Karabakh.
“The Council demonstrated its solidarity in unequivocal condemnation of the blatant use of force targeting the peaceful population and civil infrastructures, which constitutes a gross violation of international law. It is evident that impunity paves a ground for Azerbaijan to openly pursue its policy of ethnic cleansing and poses new challenges for regional security and stability.
It’s time for action, rather than being silent and indifferent,” Armenian President wrote.
According to him, international mission and adequate steps are urgent in preventing continuation of mass atrocities in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Only peace and stability are at the core of our vision for the future of our country and region,” he added.
On September 21, at the request of France, a session of the UN Security Council took place, where many UN members criticized Azerbaijan's military operations in Nagorno Karabakh and demanded measures to protect the security and rights of the Armenian population of Nagorno Karabakh.
