The Batsum (Opening) civil initiative of Armenia staged a picket in front of the UN office in Armenia Wednesday—and with the demand to punish Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev.

"We speak out about the genocidal policy that took place in Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)], which is carried out by Aliyev, his backers and accomplices," said, in particular, a member of the aforesaid initiative.

Another member of this initiative added that now there is an ethnically cleansed Artsakh, and it is unknown whose security or peace the Russian peacekeepers are ensuring there.

Also, this initiative read their petition to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

At some point, the situation got tense during this demonstration outside the UN office. The person lit a bonfire—with dry wood—in front of the Yerevan office of this international organization, after which the police forcibly detained this person.
