YEREVAN. – The number of bees is drastically reducing in Europe, but this is just the opposite in Armenia, as the country’s beekeeping sector is growing in recent years. In line with some data, there are 500 thousand bee species in Armenia, and this is several times more than ten years ago. And Armenia produces 5,000 tons of honey, per year.

Also, it is not a coincidence that Armenia exports several dozens more amount of honey than in previous years, and the geographical scope of Armenia’s honey export is fairly wide.

To note, the quality of Armenian honey significantly surpasses that of Chinese honey, albeit the latter dominates the European market. And if the European beekeeping crisis deepens, Armenia’s honey could capture firm positions in the entire European market.
