YEREVAN.- Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan promised to take personal control over providing medical assistance to civilians wounded by the Azerbaijani armed forces at the border.

Since the beginning of 2012, Azerbaijani armed forces wounded 26 people, including three civilians, along the contact line.

“Unfortunately, we still have the border regions inspected and fired at by the adversary,” he noted.

He recalled that under the law, soldiers are receiving medical services free of charge but if civilians are turning to the Defense Ministry, they would also receive aid.

At the same time, Seyran Ohanyan promised to take the issue under personal control.

“From now on we will be more attentive and will try to help those had not applied to the Defense Ministry directly,” he emphasized.
