YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Ambassador to Romania, Hamlet Gasparyan, on Friday met with Romanian Minister of National Education, Remus Pricopie.

The talk was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding, Armenian MFA press service informs. The interlocutors discussed the current education cooperation programs between the two countries and outlined the prospects for future interaction. They discussed the implementation of the Armenian and Romanian government’s 2011-2015 cooperation program in the fields of culture, education, and science. The parties agreed to make additional efforts to expand this collaboration. Specifically, Ambassador Gasparyan proposed to encourage Romanian university students to apply for Armenia’s scholarships.  

Also, they reflected on cooperation in science and technology. In addition, they highlighted the plan to sign a memorandum of cooperation between Yerevan State University and the University of Bucharest.   

Hamlet Gasparyan and Remus Pricopie pointed to the active ties that are established between Armenia and Romania within the framework of the Bologna Process. Ambassador Gasparyan expressed a hope that Romania would be among the guests of honor at the Bologna Process congress to be convened in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan in 2015.
