YEREVAN. – Armenian National Assembly (NA) Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan on Saturday received the Bahrain-Armenia Friendship Group delegation from the Bahraini parliament, NA informs.
Welcoming the guests, the NA leader expressed a conviction that their visit to Armenia is a good opportunity to discuss the avenues for developing relations between both countries and to reflect on the agenda of bilateral matters. Abrahamyan noted that there is a considerable potential for Armenian-Bahraini cooperation. Also, he underscored the need to develop interparliamentary collaboration, and noted that both parliaments have formed respective friendship groups. In addition, Hovik Abrahamyan highlighted the need to enhance the efforts to carry out economic cooperation. In his conviction, there are good preconditions for developing ties likewise in education, culture, and tourism.
In his turn, the Bahraini delegation head, Hassan Eyad Abu Hamas, noted that his country gives a high assessment to developing relations with Armenia, and expressed a conviction that their visit to Armenia will contribute to deepening the interaction. He underscored the development of interparliamentary ties, bilateral contacts, and mutual visits. He likewise considered it indispensable to enhance economic cooperation. Also, he conveyed to the Armenian NA head the warm greetings by the speaker of the Bahraini Council of Representatives, and his invitation for an official visit to Bahrain.
The parties discussed regional matters and other issues of bilateral interest.
