YEREVAN. – Armenian Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan on Wednesday received US Ambassador to Armenia, John Heffern.  

The parties discussed matters with respect to responding quickly and giving a proper legal assessment to the criminal-based election violations that could be committed during Armenia’s presidential vote to be held on February 18.    

Also, Armenia’s attorney general presented the activities of the working group that is set up to exercise prosecutorial supervision with respect to gathering, recording and examining election violation reports. He added that the official website of the Prosecutor General’s Office is informing the people of the gathered reports and the results of their examination.

In his turn, the US ambassador highly appreciated the measures that the Prosecutor General’s Office is taking to restore public trust with respect to Armenia’s electoral system.     

In addition, the interlocutors discussed the avenues toward developing interaction.
