YEREVAN. - The upcoming presidential elections and possible post-election political processes were discussed during Monday meeting of the head of Armenian National Assembly Standing Committee on European Integration Naira Zohrabyan and the head of the Council of Europe office in Armenia Oleksandr Pavlyuk.

Zohrabyan and Pavlyuk also discussed other issues of mutual interest, in particular, the main priorities of six-month Armenia’s presidency in the Council starting this May, as well as anti-Armenian policy of Azerbaijan.

Naira Zohrabyan expressed her displeasure with the crisis of values within the Council of Europe, noting that, unfortunately, Azerbaijan manages to ‘play a role’ in the Council of Europe with its petrodollars. According to her, if the Council of Europe and international organizations do not take appropriate measures to prevent the “petrodollar progress” of Azerbaijan, they will face a serious crisis.

Both sides also exchanged views on the upcoming May elections to the Aldermen Council of Yerevan.
