STEPANAKERT. – In line with the arrangement that was previously reached with authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), the OSCE mission held a planned monitoring on Friday at the line of the contact between the NKR and Azerbaijani armed forces.

The monitoring was conducted nearby Kuropatkino residence of NKR’s Martuni Region, and it was led by the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk.

From the NKR territory, the monitoring was carried out by the Personal Representative of OSCE Chairperson-in-Office’s field assistants Hristo Hristov and Evgeny Sharov, and staff member Jonathan Ferabi of the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-office. 

From the Azerbaijani positions, the monitoring was conducted by field assistants William Pryor and Irji Aberle.

No ceasefire violations were recorded during the monitoring. But the Azerbaijani side did not take the OSCE mission out to its vanguards positions and, as a result, the OSCE monitoring teams had to monitor from a more distant location.     

NKR MOD and MFA representatives accompanied the OSCE monitoring mission at the Karabakh side of the line of contact.
