Nagorno-Karabakh (NK) National Assembly MP Vahram Atanesyan highly appreciated the Lithuanian Seimas’ (Parliament) decision to form a friendship group with NK.

Upon the request of Armenian News-NEWS.am, Atanesyan commented on this decision, and recalled that NK and the Baltic States had concurrently started their fight against the Soviet totalitarianism.

“We were awaiting such reaction from the Baltic States. I believe such decision is the first step, between the Nagorno-Karabakh people’s movement and the Baltic peoples, toward establishing friendly ties,” the NK MP noted.

At the same time, however, Vahram Atanesyan recorded with regret the “presence of forces that do not appreciate historical traditions” in the Baltics.

To note, the declaration on the establishment of a friendship group was issued on Tuesday.
