YEREVAN.- Armenia is faced with difficult situation because “some people believe that the elections could have a different outcome,” German Ambassador Reiner Morell told ARMENIA Today.
“However, we believe that there is only one way - everything must go peacefully and quietly without use of force. And if there are issues, and they do exist, people or organizations have to take the peaceful path,” Ambassador said.
German Ambassador believes one of the ways may be an appeal to the Central Electoral Commission, the step which have already been taken. Another way is to appeal to court.
“But I think, in the end, if you think that something is wrong, then you have to prove it. If you cannot prove, have to accept the situation,” he said. It is the first time when people feel that have a certain power, influence, and have something to budge.
People may be disappointed, because they did not achieve their goal, but Ambassador urges them to get back to work, to be strong opposition to reorganize their party and try again.
Ambassador Rainer Morel fully agrees with the findings and conclusions of the OSCE/ODIHR observation mission on Armenia’s presidential elections. The final report will contain recommendation just as the previous one presented after the presidential elections.
