YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Foreign Minister, Edward Nalbandian, on Friday received Secretary-General Wanda Diebolt of the Francophone University Agency (AUF).
Nalbandian underscored the visit to Armenia by the head of AUF, which unites around 800 universities around the world, MFA press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. The minister noted that Armenia’s becoming a full member in the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) last year has become an important phase.
In her turn, Diebolt highly appreciated the efforts being taken to strengthen the presence of the French language in Armenia’s education system.
The interlocutors underscored the signing of a linguistic pact between Armenia and OIF, and stated that this will become an additional stimulus for expanding the French language and the francophone culture in Armenia.
Edward Nalbandian and Wanda Diebolt also exchanged views on enlarging the Francophone University Agency programs in Armenia.
