YEREVAN. – Armenian capital city Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and Mayor Sorin Mircea Oprescu of the Romanian capital, Bucharest, signed a memorandum of intentions, according to which cooperation is planned between the two cities. 

Margaryan noted that there are ample opportunities for cooperation and interaction, Yerevan Municipality press service informs. 

“In the context of cooperation, our first step was the signing of the memorandum of intentions. We underscore the carrying out of specific programs and the exchange of knowhow. We are open for cooperation,” Yerevan’s mayor noted.    

In his turn, the Mayor of Bucharest expressed a conviction that the ties between the two cities will become even more closer. 

“I am in Yerevan for only a few days, and I already am pleasantly surprised by Yerevan’s eye-catching appearance, rate of development, and cleanliness. I was especially fascinated by the people’s warm attitude toward you,” Oprescu stressed.  

The Bucharest mayor also expressed a hope that collaboration between the two cities will be productive, and it will contribute to quickly resolving the problems of the residents of the friendly cities.  

In his turn, Taron Margaryan assured that Yerevan Municipality also stands ready to assist Romanian businessmen, in terms of carrying out investments programs in Yerevan.
