YEREVAN. – The 110th birth anniversary of world-renowned Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian is remembered in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan.
In this connection, the composer’s son, Karen Khachaturian, as well as Armenian National Assembly Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan, Yerevan Municipality officials, the Aram Khachaturian International Competition participants, and numerous artists and music lovers visited Yerevan’s Komitas Pantheon and paid tribute to the famous Armenian composer.
“Aram Khachaturian was connected with Armenia; he often came [to Armenia] for concerts. I always sensed that tie, his affections toward the Armenian people and Armenia. He felt a responsibility that the Armenian people are close to him,” Karen Khachaturian noted.
On behalf of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, a wreath was laid to the tomb of the great composer.
