YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received world-renowned Spanish operatic soprano Montserrat Caballé.  

The President welcomed the famous singer and thanked her for being able to visit Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.

In addition, Sargsyan awarded Caballé with Armenia’s highest state order, the Medal of Honor, for her great merit in the art of music.

Montserrat Caballé accepted with gratitude, in her words, the award that was given as a sign of warmth and love. She spoke about Armenia and the Armenian nation with the greatest admiration and love.

“Armenia is an island of peace and love. You have a wonderful country, and a people with great spiritual strength,” Caballé said.

The prominent singer also noted that she will leave Armenia with unique impressions and is confident that this visit of hers will have a continuation.
