YEREVAN. – Argentina and Armenia could cooperate in the mining industry, Argentina’s Ambassador said.

A seminar-presentation, titled “Bilateral Trade and Investment Opportunities” was held on Friday in the Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In his speech, Diego Alvarez Rivera said Argentina is famous for its mining industry, but Argentinean companies have not been presented in Armenia so far. He noted that opportunities for cooperation can be found in almost all sectors.

The trade turnover between the states does not fully meet the existing potential, but has recently registered growth.

Exports from Argentina to Armenia in 2012 made $5.76 million, increasing by $1.75 million as compared with 2010. The volume of exports reaches $0.5 million annually.

Armenia is mainly importing agricultural products, such as butter, poultry, milk powder, tobacco, and is exporting ferromolybdenum.
