YEREVAN. – In terms of energy costs, the production of dairy products in Armenia is in a better condition—in one production phase—than the American ones, the area experts told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

After the production of cheese, the milk factories in Armenia do not dry the whey, whereas this phase of production consumes the most energy among American producers.

As a rule, cheese, butter and milk powder are the three primary products that are used in the smaller American cheese factories. And the third ingredient is the most costly in terms of consuming energy, since it requires a greater heat in order to be dried.

In Armenia, however, whey powder is not produced, from which we can conclude that the Armenian producers spend much less energy than their foreign counterparts when processing milk.
