YEREVAN. – Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan issued a congratulatory message to Egypt’s President Adly Mansour, in connection with the Egyptian National Day, the Press Office of the President of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.  

To note, July 23 is celebrated as Revolution Day in Egypt. As a result of the military coup that was staged on this day in 1952, the monarchy was overthrown in Egypt and the country was declared a republic.

The revolution was carried out by the military of the radical Free Officers Movement led by Gamal Abdel Nasser.
