The OSCE Mission will conduct a planned monitoring at the boundary between Armenia and Azerbaijan on Wednesday.

The monitoring will be held in the direction of Aygepar village of Armenia’s Tavush Region and Alibeyli village of Azerbaijan’s Tovuz Region.

From the Armenian side of the border, the monitoring will be conducted by Christo Christov and Evgeny Sharov, Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.

From the Azerbaijani side of the boundary, the monitoring will be held by Andrzej Kasprzyk, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, and his field assistant William Pryor.

To note, Azerbaijan has violated the ceasefire, at its boundaries with Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, 7,960 times in the first seven months 2013. As a result of Azerbaijan’s breach of the truce, three Armenian military servicemen were killed and nine others were wounded. In addition, a civilian was wounded.

In 2012, Azerbaijan had violated the ceasefire over 16,300 times.

Azerbaijan continually sets new “records” in terms of breaching the truce in recent years. It violated the ceasefire approximately 600 times in 2006; around 1,400 times in 2007; 3,500 times in 2008; virtually 4,600 times in 2009; 7,200 times in 2010; and more than 12,600 times in 2011.
