YEREVAN. – Employee of casino in Armenia organized fake robbery to steal AMD 168,000 (about $400), Armenian News-NEWS.am reports.

According to the press service of Armenian Police, early in the morning casino manager called police and reported to the law enforcement service that the casino has been robbed. At the scene, the manager told the police that at 5:40 am. Casino employee Minas V. called the director of the casino and informed him that about an hour ago an unknown person with the mask covering his face ringed the doorbell at the casino and when Minas opened the door that person threatened Minas with a gun, demanding money. According to Minas, the criminal stole AMD 168,000 and left.

Later the police discovered that in fact the robbery has never occurred. Instead, the casino employee Minas turned off the surveillance cameras, organized a fake robbery and stole the money himself. According to Minas, he stole the money due to the financial problems.
