YEREVAN. – The text of a personal letter sent by Patriarch of Jerusalem to Catholicos Karekin II should not have been available for media, representative of a youth group said.

Mariam Martirosyan, vice chairman of the Association of youth organizations of World Armenian Congress, believes targeted attacks on the Armenian Apostolic Church are unacceptable.

“We do not accuse anyone, we juts call on those concerned over the fate of church and the [Armenian] nation to be cautious and avoid making moves which could threaten security of the church,” Martirosyan said during Thursday press conference, adding that a number of NGOs have joined the calls.

Patriarch of Jerusalem Nourhan Manougian addressed Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II with a strongly worded letter, expressingdiscontent at his policy, in particular the case of French diocese head who had been  discharged of office.
