YEREVAN. – Armenian side expects reasonable moves from Azerbaijan, as any state must be interested in return of its citizens, Armenian Defense Ministry said.

Earlier spokesperson for Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said they had not violated the Geneva Conventions.

If Baku is confident they had not violated the Conventions, they have to be more interested in “a healthy relationship” and have to swap the captives, MOD spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The party saying it has not violated the Conventions must not be interested in delay of exchanging the POWs.

Hovhannisyan also linked Azerbaijani captive Firuz Faragev’s intention to return to Azerbaijan with the recent incident concerning Hakob Injighulyan.

Faragev has been in captivity for over a year, but it is only now that he voiced intention to come back, Armenian official said.

As informed earlier, Armenian soldier Hakob Injighulyan (born in 1991) found himself in the territory under the control of the adversary. According to preliminary information, Injighulyan turned up there on August 8 at around 3am, while carrying out his military service, by crossing the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR)-Azerbaijan border, and as a result of losing his orientation in the area. An investigation is underway to determine the details of the incident, the NKR MOD press service had informed.
