CAIRO. –  Armenian community of Egypt is in a good condition, members of the community are safe, local Armenians said.

“The curfew starts at 7pm and lasts till 6am. It will continue for a month, as long as the period of the transfer of power  takes place, and the country returns to stability,” Berj Terzian, chairman of AGBU’s Cairo Chapter, told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Supporters of ousted president Morsi are trying to escalate tension inside the country by attacking churches and state buildings.

“The curfew was declared to stop their actions,” he emphasized, at the same time expressing hope that situation will get stable in a month.

The clashes between Muslim Brotherhood members and police continue in Egypt. Islamists are holding protest actions despite the curfew.
