YEREVAN. – The need for constitutional reforms was repeatedly voiced by officials, former justice minister said.
The need for reforms was also reflected in the election campaigns, thus the initiative is not a surprise, Advisor to the Constitutional Court of Armenia, former Justice Minister Gevorg Danielian said, commenting for Armenian News-NEWS.am on media reports about the possibility of constitutional reform.
As noted by Gevorg Danielian, there are no legal grounds to talk about the direction of commission’s work, the timing and composition.
The former minister said if a decision is made, it would be coordinated under the decree of the president.
“As an expert, I believe that there is definitely the need for constitutional reforms,” he emphasized.
