YEREVAN. – Štefan Füle, European Union Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, who was to make the final adjustments in the Armenia-EU Association Agreement, is slated to visit Armenia on September 12, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports.
“To our reporter’s query, EU Office [in Armenia] press officer Anahit Azatyan responded: ‘Štefan Füle will visit Armenia on September 12 and 13, to attend the third ministerial informal discourse of the Eastern Partnership member countries.’
“Füle’s spokesperson Peter Stano likewise told our reporter that Füle will be in Armenia on September 12.
“In the meantime, various EU officials are trying to receive explanations in connection with Armenia’s decision to enter the Customs Union.
“For this objective, [Armenian] NA [i.e., National Assembly] Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Chairman Artak Zakaryan and [ruling Republican Party] RPA Vice-Chairman [and Education and Science Minister] Armen Ashotyan will travel to Brussels today [i.e., Thursday],” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
