YEREVAN. – The documents signed in Moscow reflect the interests of Armenia, and they are in line with the national security priorities of the country.
The aforesaid was noted during Wednesday’s session of the Political Board of the coalition government’s junior partner, Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party (RLP).
Armenia’s decision to join the Customs Union and several other matters were discussed during the session.
In addition, RLP Chairman and National Security Council Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan presented the results of his recent talks in Moscow, the RLP press service informs.
“The Collective Security Treaty Organization [i.e., the CSTO] likewise unites Armenia and the Customs Union member countries.
“Membership in the Customs Union does not conflict with the deepening of Armenia’s cooperation with other centers of power in the world.
“Considering the cooperation with European organizations as a political priority of Armenia, the political board stresses that they have had a substantial importance in promoting democratic reforms in the country, and it underscores the initialing of the [Armenia-]EU Association Agreement in the future,” the Orinats Yerkir Party statement reads, in particular.
