YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday met with representatives of the Bankers Club of the Central/National Banks from Central Asia, the Black Sea area, and the Balkan countries
The officials have arrived in Armenia on the occasion of the club’s 30th meeting, which is conducted within the framework of the events devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Armenian national currency, the dram.
“The Club’s continuous and coordinated work can make a solid contribution to the financial stability of our countries and economic development. Such meetings also provide a good opportunity to familiarize with the member states, the history and culture of their people, which in turn can have a positive impact on strengthening the cooperation,” President Sargsyan said.
With the chairman of the central banks, the President spoke about the financial and banking system of Armenia and the economy, in general.
He also inquired about the current situation in the financial and banking systems of the member states, the challenges facing global economy, and the meeting participants’ expert opinion on addressing these challenges.
