City council of national minority groups of Turkey’s Diayarbakir decided to erect a monument to the memory of all nations exterminated before the Turkish Republic – Armenians, Kurds, Jewish, Assyrians, Yezidi and Chaldea.(photo).

Mayor of Suri, Vice Mayor of Diatyrbakir, representatives of Armenian council of Surb Giragos church, Assyrian church, officials and intellectuals participated in the opening of a monument in Anzele district on Thursday.

The Mayor of Suri Abdullah Demirbas in his speech said that those who rule in this land now have to apologize to those whom they hurt.

An inscription on the monument says “We have combined the pain not to happen again.” The inscription is made in Armenian, Turkish, Kurdish, Hebrew, Arabic and English.
