YEREVAN. – Armenia’s First Deputy Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan on Monday received Lorenzo Caraffi, Head of Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to Armenia, who is ending his mission in Armenia, and Sarah Epprecht, the new Head of Delegation.      

The interlocutors discussed bilateral cooperation, ICRC activities being conducted at the border areas, and issues concerning prisoners of war, informs the Armenian MOD press service.

In this context, the deputy defense minister called upon the ICRC representatives to be more actively engaged in the matter concerning Hakob Injighulyan, an Armenian citizen who is held captive in Azerbaijan, and to visit him more frequently. 

Tonoyan also highly appreciated Caraffi’s activities during his term in office, and wished productive work to Epprecht in her new mission.
