YEREVAN. – Defense Minister of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan on Tuesday received poet and prominent public figure Meruzhan Hovhannisyan, who was a dissident in the Soviet era.

They discussed the present-day realities, including the army-society relations, informs the Armenian MOD press service. 

The interlocutors stressed the role of the intellectuals in the preservation of a nation and, under the conditions of independent statehood and by the example of the intellectuals’ active civic position, the highlighting and reinforcing—within the system of values of the generations—of the love and devotion toward the homeland.
