March 31, OSCE mission held regular monitoring on the NKR-Azerbaijan armed forces’ contact line in Berkaber village, Tavush region. No ceasefire violations were registered. However, the monitoring lasted for seven minutes instead of the scheduled 30, as the Azerbaijani side demanded to suspend the monitoring.
Earlier, the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides agreed to conduct monitoring in the village of Koti, Tavush region, where incidents were registered on March 3. However, the Azerbaijani side repudiated the agreement, stating it cannot guarantee security in this area, Head of the Tactical Department, General Staff of the RA Armed Forces, Colonel Andranik Mkrtumyan told reporters.
As for the ceasefire violations by the Azerbaijani side, NKR Defense Army opens retaliatory fire only in extreme cases, Mkrtumyan said.
