YEREVAN. – EU has repeatedly stated readiness to support free choice of the states, head of EU delegation to Armenia Traian Hristea said commenting  on Armenia-EU join statements and agreements signed with Russia.

He stressed that the fact that Armenia freely signs treaties with its partners is commendable. As to relations with EU, the statement issued in Vilnius is a result of the work carried out by the sides.

Traian Hristea noted that the statement mentioned common values that are background for Armenia-EU relation and readiness to continue sectoral cooperation.

“EU remains committed to reforms in Armenia,” he said, adding that they are waiting for concrete proposals from the Armenian colleagues that would be in accordance with the new international commitments undertaken by the country.

“As I said earlier, there is life after Vilnius Armenia remains an important partner in Eastern Partnership,” he added.
