YEREVAN. – With the visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin, numerous streets in Gyumri city were renewed and tidied up again.

Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP, Gyumri native Sukias Avetisyan said the abovementioned at a press conference on Thursday.

In Avetisyan’s words, there was an expectation that many Gyumri residents will have jobs as a result of increasing the number of the Russian garrison in the city.

“Numerous [Gyumri] residents will be provided housing. I am astonished when they say why Putin had to land in Gyumri first and then [capital city] Yerevan. I believe you need to think about the regions [of Armenia], too,” the RPA MP stated.

Sukias Avetisyan was also surprised to the fact that twelve agreements have been signed between Armenia and Russia, and with regard to economic and social programs.
