YEREVAN. – Romania’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Sorin Vasile, on Thursday presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.
Sargsyan congratulated the ambassador on his appointment. He also wished him success for the benefit of closer Armenian-Romanian relations and the strengthening of the friendship between the two peoples, the President’s Press Office reported.
The President also noted that the friendship between the Armenian and the Romanian peoples is a solid foundation for the development of inter-state relations, and that Armenia looks toward continuing this friendship.
The interlocutors stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation, and in terms of the development of Armenian-Romanian relations, they highlighted the role of the Armenian community in Romania.
President Serzh Sargsyan and Ambassador Sorin Vasile also discussed the potential and the opportunities for economic cooperation between the two countries.
